Reid Campbell
I'm a playwright and composer. My work has been seen and heard across Canada for the past forty years. I am inspired by local stories and history and I've written comedies on the themes of climate change, species at risk and pluralism. Lately, Laurel Darnell and I have adapted the book 'Sweet Ride' by Ann Barry for the stage. It is the story of a bicycle trip taken in 1943 by four women from Blockhouse NS, determined to see their music idol, Don Messer, play live in Charlottetown PEI.
My comedy with music 'The Rum Runners' Ball', performed as dinner theatre at The Bluenose Lodge in Lunenburg, NS on Wednesdays during the Summer of 2024 returns for another run, Summer 2025. True stories... mostly...
'Sweet Ride' (another true story, mostly) fwill debut at The Bluenose Lodge April 10,11,12 and April 24,25, 26.
